Akaushi beef dominates other breeds in its marbling capacity and health benefits. It is one of four breeds collectively known as Wagyu, which translates to Japanese cow.
The marbling is important to note, because the fast marbling in the case of Akaushi cattle demonstrates that the cattle store fat inside the muscle, not outside like many others. The beef has higher levels of oleic acid, and conjugated linoleic acid than any other beef, and it also has more monounsaturated fat than saturated fat, making it of superior quality and taste.
